Old Volunteer has been refurbished (re decorsated) Should have Three real ales on at the wekends, one or two in the week

Belle Vue has now been demolished

The Carlton is likely to be demolished

Jolly Higglers, Ilkeston Road, being converted into a Tesco

Logger Heads, Cliff Road, closed and under threat

Moot closed again! Pending new manager. Now open again! Are we counting how many times it closes and reopens?

Foresters Inn, Huntingdone Street now reopened after refurbishment

Robin Hood, Sherwood. New Tenants in. Martyn and Jules. Inititialy four Castle Rock beers put on. Long term beer range unknown.

Windsor Castle closed and boarded up. Will make way for Tesco car park.

Falcon, Canning Circus closed. Will probably re open sometime in the future?

Moot has re opened

Town Arms about to re open - possible GK beers.

White Swan, Basford closed

Fox, Sneinton now a solicitors office

Vat & Fiddle to become Castle Rock beers with one Bateman and one guest mild and bitter

Dunkirk Inn Free hold has been bought by Reg De Souza. Three real Ales are being put on. Open 12 to 12 Maybe will have one nottingham beer on.
 
Great Northern Inns have bought the Cross Keys in Fletcher Gate. Opening in February with six real ales on.

Newcastle Arms, North Sherwood St. Closed, looks as if being used for accommodation

Saracens Head, North Sherwood St. Closed

Porchester, Mapperley has been converted into a bed shop

Churchill’s ‘Pub & Diner’ in Kimberley. It was formerly Dillinger’s. They are selling three cask ales, and seem to have a decent selection, including Adnams Old Ale, and two others (micros?). They have four handpumps.
The place is now very smart, have being totally refurbished. The ground floor (up several external steps) is the bar, with two further floors catering for diners.

Lord Nelson, Sneinton, has been taken over by the Pub People. Unfortunately they are tied to Greene King products!

 
November 09

Roundhouse, St.James Street, City Centre opened recently. Well worth a visit. Take note of the painted ceilings.

Lion Revived, Bulwell - Landlord and lady, Mark and Christine are leaving due to a rent increase by Greene King. The exorbitant increase means that they can no longer remain in the pub and make a living. This is typical GK tactics to force licensees out. As far as we know the pub is not closing. Malt Cross on St.James St. Has started doing real ale, Nottingham Legend and Everards Tiger. Maybe £3 per pint though.

Old Volunteer at Caythorpe reopened. Unfortunately only GK range of beers, IPA, Speckled Hen and Abbots though may have a guest on once a month.

Lord Raglan, Eastwood has closed. No further details as yet

Royal Oak, Radcliffe will be run by Mole Face Pub Company

Bensons, Mansfield Rd, stopped serving real ale until further notice. Which means probably for good.

Queen Adelaide, kimberley closed. Probably for good?

The Crown at Beeston, re opened. Has 10 beers on. A Nottingham beer always on.

Bunkers Hill and Rutland Cottage (Ilkeston) Freeholds have been bought by Pub People Co. from Punch Tevern.

Royal Children – Pete from Salutation takes over the running of both pubs from 28th September (Spyke)

Crown, Beeston re-opens on 28th September (Spyke)

Jester, Sneinton has shut and is to become a mosque (Spyke)

Liberties gutted by fire (Dave Gascoigne)

 
June 09

The Royal Oak in Radcliffe is now closed for a couple of months for a major refurbishment.
(i) Three Tuns, Eastwood shut
(ii) Red Lion, Alfreton Road hope to increase range of real ales and have a LocAle
(iv) Magpie Brewery night on 1st Wednesday in July at the Globe
(v) Blue Bell, Nottingham re-opened with Hobgoblin at £3.20 a pint
(vi) Yates Wine Lodge has two handpulls (W&Y Bombardier and ‘Yates’ – when available)
(vii) Red Cow, Sneinton demolished.

 
MAY 09
Queens Head in the Heanor/Marple area has reopened. Contact Georgina 07790 247295 for directions

Enterprise pub the White Hart at Heage has ceased trading. It opened again on Friday 22nd May and the new landlord is experienced in running a GBG pub. He also likes a mild on the bar but has not yet had time to order beer. Give it a try in the next few weeks and you never know. The mild stickers have disappeared though.

The Hard to Find Cafe on Mansfield Road now has a hand pump and is serving Greene King Hare Raiser.
